Think you can’t answer the Christmas prayers of a Canadian missionary?
Not all missions are foreign; some of the most impoverished missions served by the Church are right here in Canada.
This Christmas, hundreds of Canada’s missionaries will travel across our isolated and hazardous North to proclaim our Saviour’s birth.
They have one prayer, one hope: to share His love with all who wait for His arrival in the snow-bound churches, chapels and hospitals of Canada’s 26 mission dioceses.
Your gift to Catholic Missions In Canada will answer this dearest of missionary prayers and make their hope of sharing the Bread of Life in Canada’s with all in their remote and hard-to-reach mission areas a lasting reality.
Seventy-six-year-old Sister Margaret Sadler, S.E.J., remembers Christmas 2011 with achill. That Christmas Eve, she and Oblate Father François Paradis drove 100 snowy km from Lynn Lake to the Manitoba mission in Kinoosao—a trip that normally takes two hours along a gravel road—but that trip found the missionaries cold, stuck and stranded in a ditch along the twisting and icy road.
Because of friends like you, we can provide $15,200 for Sister Margaret’s ministry this year—of which $2,220 funds her travel and sustenance needs. Your Christmas gift will answer our prayers to put food on her table and safeguard her travels—at Christmas and in the year ahead.
Think of it! How often can you answer a missionary’s most fervent prayer? Your gift can do that, right now. Don’t miss this chance to shine the light of Christ in Canada’s missions!
