Reframing and Reflecting
In this issue we reflect on some of the issues facing the Canadian Catholic Church and feature articles on life in mission communities. We focus on our need for foreign priests and religious, as well as dedicated lay people, in sustaining the Church in Canada and have more on how the merging of Indigenous and traditional Christian cultures creates a synergy of meaning and respect.
I was asked by Fr. David to write an editorial on Indian Residential Schools. I’m certainly no expert on the matter, so I needed to do a fair amount of research. There’s a lot of good information out there. I learned quite a bit and it helped to refine my understanding of what’s important in a situation of this magnitude. I’d encourage you to do your own study and to look at articles from various perspectives before forming your moral position.
Our editorial committee sends you best wishes for a Merry Christmas and good health and happiness in 2024.
